Chris’s Fun Facts

Trekking Since: 2022
Favourite Trek: Upper Manaslu Circuit Trek
Go-To Trekking Treat: Dark Chocolate
Memorable Wildlife Sighting: Monkeys!
On Every Trek I Look Forward To: The Quiet and Calm of the Mountains

Chris is originally from Canada and now lives in Kathmandu, Nepal with her husband, Ganesh. She loves nature and yoga and is thrilled to blend these two passions together while trekking. Chris is an experienced yoga teacher with a Kinesiology background. She studied at the yoga school Path of Yoga and became a teacher in their 200 hour Yoga Teacher Trainings. She weaves her in-depth understanding of the physical body with the philosophical teachings of yoga to create well-balanced, thoughtful classes and mindfulness practices.

Conscious communication is another love of hers that she could talk about for hours! Chris is honoured to be the main yoga teacher on yoga treks with Himalayan Peace Treks and do most of the writing for the website.

Chris first came to Nepal in 2022 to trek the Manaslu Circuit with her best friend. She couldn’t have possibly imagined how life-changing a trek it would be; eventually marrying her guide, Ganesh, and developing an immense love of Nepal and the Himalayas. Living a yogic lifestyle means living with a deep care for the earth and all of its beings. She says that it feels so good to be a part of making ethical and sustainable trekking possible in Nepal, supporting the local communities, and planting trees.

“Yoga sessions led by Chris were simply outstanding: relaxing or rejuvenating, depending on the time of day and situation. Chris brings her calm passion, extensive knowledge and years of experience into every beautiful yoga session, whether we were beginning our day together, revitalizing during a break or enjoying a well-deserved winding down of another awe-inspiring day.” – Katie 60, Canada
